Parent's Just Don't Understand

Can somebody out there PLEEEAAASSSSEEEE!!!! help me to understand, why is it so important to the people of the community for the school to have rules and regulations, until it hinders someone close to them. I think the worst word in the human language is the word BUT. That dang word (BUT) always prolongs the inevidable yet people use it over and over again. It makes no sense to me how a person can look at one situation and draw two different view points from it depending on who the child is. Ok, yes one child may have a better behavior record and tend not to get in trouble, where as another child may always get in trouble and they both break the same rule. I feel they both should be punished equally and one not shown favortism because of who t he/she is or who their parents may be in the community. I especially don't think that teachers should soften the punishment for fellow teachers children. I am a teacher who happens to be in the same school building with my child and I have made it well known that if my child gets in trouble I want her teacher to do what is right. If the teacher does what is right and as a parent I do what is right at home then I feel that this will make my child a better person and student in the long run.
